Aug 28 2024
Our eMerge team is excited to share the following updates:
eMerge attorneys are advising clients on data management and information governance issues associated with their creation and use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools. This legal work, informed by our own experience in using AI technology and working daily with client data, has allowed us to further reduce risks to clients in this evolving area. We are proud that our attorneys’ practical guidance in eDiscovery and data management has earned them a global ranking from Chambers, along with other notable recognitions.
Generative AI Consulting
Case Studies
eMerge is advising a client on an array of discovery and information governance considerations surrounding its employees’ and customers’ use of industry-leading generative AI capabilities. This engagement commenced with a deep dive into the technical underpinnings of generative AI offerings, the AI product roadmap, its litigation and regulatory posture, and its related policies and procedures, to be followed by the development of updated guidelines and workflows for defensibly and proportionately preserving, searching, and collecting generative AI content and metadata.
eMerge was engaged by a nonprofit legal services organization to ensure that its legal, information governance, and IT policies and procedures were updated to reflect its employees’ and partners’ burgeoning use of generative AI tools. Among other deliverables, eMerge drafted a new generative AI charter for the organization, revised several existing policies, and advised on accompanying employee guidance and training on appropriate uses—and limitations—of generative AI tools.
