Feb 18 2021

ATLANTA – Troutman Pepper eMerge has promoted five attorneys in its Atlanta, New York and Philadelphia offices – Jim Calvert and Jason Lichter were promoted to Principal and Natalie Day, Michael Frankel and Stayce Harris were promoted to Counsel.

“At eMerge, our attorneys combine their legal experience with technology solutions to help our clients successfully resolve their legal matters,” said Alison Grounds, managing director of Troutman Pepper eMerge. “We congratulate these attorneys whose focus on client care and eDiscovery advocacy have led to these career milestones and look forward to continuing to elevate the client experience.”

Principals:

Jim Calvert (Atlanta) consults with case teams and external clients to develop strategies and matter-specific discovery plans for a wide array of litigation matters in state and federal courts, as well as arbitrations, governmental investigations, and regulatory proceedings. He has extensive knowledge in discovery law and technology and devotes his practice to advising clients on all phases of discovery and advocating for clients involved in discovery disputes. Before Calvert focused on eDiscovery, his practice included antitrust and trade regulation and commercial litigation.

Jason Lichter (New York) develops and implements strategies to ensure the firm’s clients receive the highest quality eDiscovery and information governance services in a cost-effective and defensible manner. A former software engineer, he advises colleagues and clients on leveraging the latest technologies and eDiscovery best practices to efficiently guide matters from initial document preservation and collection to presentation at trial. A staunch advocate of continuous process improvement and innovative legal service delivery, Lichter applies these tenets to all components of the eDiscovery lifecycle.

Counsel:

Natalie Day (Atlanta) combines her substantive knowledge of law with her technological prowess to reduce burdens and cost. Day manages and advises clients on all stages of discovery, from data preservation and collection to review and production. Day understands the value in crafting an appropriate discovery strategy based on the needs of the case, the complexity of the matter, and the amount at issue.

Michael Frankel (Philadelphia), a former software engineer for Fortune 100 companies, applies a deep understanding of technology to his practice, guiding clients from a variety of industries through the management, preservation and discovery of electronic materials. Frankel has close to two decades of legal experience managing eDiscovery projects both large and small and provides eDiscovery counseling to clients and colleagues facing ever-increasing legal and technological complexities.

Stayce Harris (Atlanta) develops and oversees all phases of the discovery process on a variety of cases including responses to third party and government subpoenas, business litigation and trademark litigation. Harris has in-depth experience in dealing with the unique issues faced by organizations of all sizes facing electronically stored information in litigation and excels at leveraging technology to develop and execute creative, tactical solutions to reduce client costs while maintaining accurate and defensible discovery processes.
