Troutman Pepper Partner Alison Grounds Named to Daily Report’s 2020 Georgia Trailblazers List

Oct 1 2020

ATLANTA – Alison Grounds, a partner at Troutman Pepper and managing director of Troutman Pepper eMerge, has been named to the Daily Report’s 2020 Georgia Trailblazers list, which recognizes those who have made significant impacts on the practice, policy, and technological advancements in their sector. Honorees are “agents of change” and “have taken extra measures to contribute positive outcomes” in their area of law.

“I am honored to be recognized by the Daily Report as a 2020 Georgia Trailblazer and congratulate all of the publication’s honorees,” Grounds said. “I am passionate about merging technology with legal strategy to produce the best results for our clients and look forward to continuing to push the boundaries in this area.”

Grounds is a litigator and eDiscovery advocate who combines legal strategy and evolving, leading-edge technology to discover the facts needed to help clients achieve optimal results, win cases and settle at the right value. In 2012, she founded Troutman Pepper’s eDiscovery affiliate, eMerge, which has helped save clients millions of dollars by avoiding unnecessary processing, hosting, and review of non-relevant data.

Several industry authorities have recognized Grounds’ pioneering approach to the intersection of law and technology. She is nationally and internationally ranked by Chambers and was recognized by her peers in the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) who named her Technology Advocate of the Year in 2013. In 2015, she was named the first recipient of the Monica Bay STEM Leadership Award, which recognizes outstanding innovation in the legal technology industry as well as mentorship and advancement of women in the field. Most recently, eMerge was voted the No. 1 eDiscovery provider (national) and No. 1 eDiscovery company (locally based) in the Daily Report’s “Best Of” 2020 list

Outside her legal practice, Grounds serves as an adjunct professor at Emory University School of Law where she teaches a course on eDiscovery & Litigation Technology. She also serves as a mentor for the Leadership Counsel on Legal Diversity.
