Alison Grounds, a partner with Troutman Pepper and the founder and managing director of Troutman Pepper eMerge, was quoted in Legaltech News, “Been There, Done That: 8 Law Firms That Have Launched ALSPs.”
Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders: In 2012, partner Alison Grounds at the firm then-named Troutman Sanders helped found the firm’s eMerge ALSP. The subsidiary provides integrated technology and legal solutions for data-based challenges in litigation discovery, transactional and compliance matters and government investigations. Grounds argued the affiliation with a law firm provides a significant advantage over traditional ALSPs that aren’t a subsidiary of a law firm.
“Our affiliation with the law firm allows our lawyers to continue to practice law and engage in the other aspects of legal matters in a way that a traditional ALSP cannot,” Grounds said. “Our technologists also benefit by seeing the full continuum of the legal lifecycle on matters, which allows them to contribute more to the solutions we are creating to help drive efficiency,” she said.
