Troutman Pepper eMerge Principal to Serve as Co-Chair of New York State Bar Association’s Electronic Discovery Committee
Feb 16 2021
NEW YORK – Jason Lichter, a principal at Troutman Pepper eMerge, has been appointed co-chair of the Electronic Discovery Committee of the New York State Bar Association’s Commercial & Federal Litigation Section. Lichter will serve alongside Gina Sansone, counsel at Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider LLP.
The Electronic Discovery Committee aims to raise awareness among practitioners and members of the judiciary, through publications and seminars, about the evolving legal and technical environment that has made eDiscovery such a critical part of contemporary litigation. The committee reports on major rulemaking initiatives in the field while analyzing case-law trends that often precede rules changes, with a particular focus on New York eDiscovery jurisprudence.
“I am honored by the appointment and, together with my co-chair Gina, look forward to making the Electronic Discovery Committee the go-to authority for New York attorneys seeking guidance on eDiscovery best practices for both litigation and investigations,” Lichter said.
Lichter advises colleagues and clients on how to leverage the latest technologies and eDiscovery best practices to efficiently guide matters from initial document preservation and collection through to production and eventual presentation at trial. A staunch advocate of continuous process improvement and innovative legal service delivery, he applies these tenets to all components of the eDiscovery lifecycle.
